I like this podcast and have made so many lifetime changes as a result. I like that it’s so up to date, the science changes constantly and faster than your own health providers and govt advice can keep up with. Unfortunately, I think they do have a sexist blind spot when it comes to younger women. There is never any discussion about foods to eat to conceive, to eat in pregnancy, to reduce pregnancy ailments, to eat postnatal shortly after birth, to regulate periods, to reduce risk of female specific cancers, etc. it’s either advice for everyone or advice for menopausal women.
This podcast has helped me improve my health but I wish they would dedicate a show to giving context on fermented foods for those of us who taking statins and BP meds. If we have to watch our sodium and saturated fat intake should we avoid fermented foods, does fermentation process negate our concerns or are their some foods we should avoid and others that are safe to eat in terms of fat and sodium. Thanks Zoe Team!
I’ve learned a lot from this team of scientists and from their guests. Most topics are based in scientific research and data - which I prefer. A few topics/guests are in the “woo-woo” arena, so I have some skepticism. Still, the vast majority of information is pro-health, based on science and studies, often randomized controlled studies. Keep up the good work!
I have been listening to the podcasts since the time they started. I do not believe I have missed any major ones and repeated several of them, which was more relevant to basic science. At times, these podcasts spend a substantial portion of the time on the logic and the science itself. In itself, it’s not a bad but I think Zoe overdoes it. Let’s listen to the experiences of the users, make it more customer - focused, and less on the details of the Science. Having said that it’s easy to be critical of this effort, and I must add that I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge. About myself and health in general. And will continue to use it.
Long-time fan of this podcast and Tim Spector’s books here, I have recommended both to many, many friends. But I’m writing this review in protest for recent turn the podcast has taken, platforming “bio hackers” and other people who, for one, are not “top scientists”, but they also promote extreme and unproven fads — getting little to no pushback from the Zoe team — and a very unhealthy relationship with food and health. Please bring it back to science and no-nonsense (and I will happily change my rating too).
Zoe has pretty good health info but the point is to get you to join. I paid almost $300 and the app doesn’t work and there is no support. Tired of corporations spending more on ads than customer service. I now have a pretty yellow box that cost a lot and a few useless emails from bots. Waste of money.
