Unwind with me as we discover the wonders of wildlife together. Perfect for animal lovers of any age looking to learn more about our furry, scaly, or slimy friends and relax in the meantime. Fall asleep, study, or be attentive; it's all up to you. This is a show made entirely for you, and in a great sense, made by you. That's because every week we cover an animal that someone in our animal podcast family requested, and every episode is dedicated to one (or many) of you. Come join us! New episodes posted every Sunday at 7 PM EST. Hosted on Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

My sister introduced this podcast to me a while ago, and at first, I was dubious; I'm usually not a podcast person, but Stef's voice, although previously described as the incarnation of sadness, is wonderfully soothing and steady, as is the occasional hint of Canadian accent. He almost always gives both the metric system and inches/feet/miles, which is very useful for a non-mathematical American. 🇺🇸 My Jell-o impression (strawberry cream/pink🍓) improves every day, as does my sleep. My favorite parts of the podcast are the etymology and the dad jokes. Also, it's always a hoot to fall asleep while he's describing a monkey or something, and waking up hours later, and the episodes have kept on playing, and Stef has moved on to a snail, or something. Like, "Whaaaa I didn't know monkeys had shells!...Ohhh, how long was I out? 👁👄👁" Also, could you maybe make an episode on Eurasian Eagle Owls?🤓
The predictability and pacing of this show are a balm for my nervous system. The narration is so soothing and he is welcoming to the listener. Please keep going!
My 10 year old son and I are both neurodivergent and struggle to get to sleep at night. I discovered this podcast and we listened last night. Tonight he asked to listen to the smart man that talks in slow motion again…🤣 The host doesn’t talk in slow motion..he does have a calming voice! And we both enjoy the information immensely as well. Thank you for keeping it calm and clean!
Wow, am I happy this podcast is back! Listening to it is one of my favorite ways to relax. Steph has such a calm, soothing voice—I even slow it down to 0.8x speed sometimes because it's so comforting. The way he speaks is soft, kind, and genuine, and it honestly feels like you're chatting with a close friend. On top of that, I always learn something new about animals with every episode. It's the perfect mix of relaxing and educational. I couldn't recommend it more!
