This is Perform with Dr. Andy Galpin. I'm Dr. Andy Galpin, a professor and director of the Human Performance Center at Parker University. With this podcast, my goal is to help you better understand and maximize your own physical and mental performance, leveraging my two decades of experience with elite performers, including Olympians and world champions across numerous sports. The goal is to cover a range of tools, technologies, and strategies designed to help everyone—from beginners to record-breaks, and everyone in between. While not all of us are elite athletes—myself included—there are countless lessons and tools we can learn from those performing at the highest levels. And remember, as legendary coach Bill Bowerman stated, "If you have a body, you are an athlete." If you're not already, I hope you'll consider starting to train and recover like one.

Listening to Dr. Andy Galpin’s podcast is like getting an unfair advantage in the gym. . .for free. After listening to hundreds of exercise “experts” who ultimately disappointed, I finally found a real one. World Class information on exercise and exercise nutrition.
I’ve been listening to Dr. Galpin’s lectures on YouTube for years. His work has directly influenced my training and scientific understanding of muscle hypertrophy. He’s a great educator and evidence-based. His guests are also fantastic.
Dr. Galpin has an exceptional ability to break down complex scientific research and to clear actionable advice without oversimplifying the science. I appreciate that podcast focuses on what the evidence actually says rather than chasing trends or making exaggerated claims. I continue to learn so much from his podcast and he has a great teaching ability. I always look forward to when a new podcast comes out.
I have recently hopped back on the fitness wagon, and the Perform podcast has provided a lot of insight to keep me focused and motivated. I don’t think it’ll take me long to get caught up on all the past episodes. I highly recommend this show to anyone who cares about their health and fitness.
I really enjoyed the episode on VO2Max. Dr. Galpin walked through a the starting steps of a program and said we could find the link to the entire program in the show notes. Turns out, if you want the program it’s actually about a hundred bucks on sale. It just seems a little scammy to bait people for an hour describing a very simple 8 week program and then give a link where the full cost is a cool hundo.
