As a 60 yr old woman who has struggled all my life with disordered eating I am loving this podcast. It’s sooooo helpful. Thank you, Bonnie, for starting your business and helping us!
Loving the podcast! I’ve been following for a while on Instagram, and am now enjoying your podcast. I even decided to “start at the beginning”… Wish that while I was struggling, there has been people like you and social media to show me that I wasn’t alone. Thought it was just “me”. Please keep providing such great and wonderful content!
Thank you so much for your podcast and for your social media presence! For most of my life, I’ve had an excellent relationship with food. As a teenager when I was in health class, we were instructed to count calories and I quickly learned that was not a healthy habit for me. It led to restriction and binging. Throughout my adult life I’ve never dieted. I simply ate what felt right at the right times. After having two kids and learning about how much women lose muscle mass after turning 30, I decided to focus more on my health. It started out with just working out and not changing any of my eating habits, but eventually I was influenced to start adjusting my eating. Despite my previous bad experience, I decided to start counting calories and my macro nutrients. Some of it was beneficial because I was able to see some gaps in my nutrition, however, it quickly became an all or nothing situation. I felt like I needed to document every single thing I ate, and if I didn’t, then I felt out of control and quickly started binging. With the help of your podcast, I have deleted the calorie counting app and am reconnecting with my body to focus on my hunger cues so that I can reestablish the peaceful relationship that I once had with food. Thank you for the information and all the encouragement! It helped me get off that horrible never ending cycle.
I’m recovering from Binge Eating Disorder and I have found so many of these episodes to be great sources of support during my recovery journey. Thank you Bonnie-so much appreciation for your efforts in producing this podcast!
