When I saw the title of this episode, I thought it does not sound like something Kendra would say. Then she said you don’t have to make a list…. Her suggestions were spot on. Things like people pleasing and perfection. Listening to her is like hanging out with a friend who reminds you you’re doing great and to be nice to yourself. I loved this episode.
OK, so I’ve never left a review for a podcast. So I had to ask ChatGPT how to do it lol. Love your books and love love love this podcast. It sets my head on straight so many times.. But episode 475 dinner in a bowl… Come on! I couldn’t have loved this episode more. I learned so much. I love to cook and you actually explained to me why I love certain dishes so much and not others. Your hot weather peptalk at the end was exceptionally timely because it is August 1 in New Mexico.. Enough said about that. Thanks for your insight and transparency. You really help many people. By the way, I told my daughter to listen to you and she finally did and is faithful listening to you now. Bravo! You are helping more than one generation.
Kudos to Kendra and the Lazy Genius crew. I give 5 stars for the many ways this podcast and Lazy Genius concepts have improved my life. From the “Magic Question” (“What can I do now to make something easier later?”) to the encouragement to be kind to ourselves and others. The reminder to honor my current season of life has also stayed with me. I also enjoy the segmented structure of each episode. Even if one part isn’t quite for me, another part almost always is. I also appreciate the emails Kendra sends. Super helpful recaps for each episode, a book recommendation edition, and links pointing listeners toward other relevant episodes. They’re thoughtful, generous, and above and beyond anything I’ve seen from other podcasts. One request for the team. I’m no longer parenting a young child (and some listeners never did), and I sometimes feel a bit outside the “core gang.” A tiny shift in language, for example, “for those of you juggling kids… or other life responsibilities” could widen the tent and help listeners in different seasons feel more included. And expanding parent related content to how it can apply to non parents (when possible) would also be welcomed. I know we’re likely a minority, but I’d love to be brought along a bit more. Wrapping it up, this is one of the few podcasts I have set to download automatically. I decided once (another LG principle!) to listen to every one.
I’ve been following Kendra’s work for years (blog, podcast, books - any content she creates, I devour). I look forward to her podcast drops every Monday, and I listen without fail. Even if the title of the episode doesn’t seem relevant to me, I always learn something that I can apply in my own life. I talk about her like she’s a friend (my mom and husband don’t bat an eye when I say “Kendra says…”), and the Lazy Genius Principles have an integral role in how I approach life. 10/10 would recommend!
