Another Mother Runner

by Feisty Media

A family of two podcasts to get (+ keep) you running without losing your family, friends, job, or sanity! More than 1,000 (!) back episodes to enjoy. Every Friday on the original show (launched in 2011), host Sarah Bowen Shea, a mom of three and veteran of 14 marathons, is joined by a rotating cast of co-hosts and often a guest expert to discuss topics ranging from how to reach a big race goal to finding your athletic happy place, and everything in between. Training, nutrition, motivation, mental toughness, TMI issues: This ~hour-long show covers it all (and then some!).  Every Tuesday, Miles of Books drops, alternating Ellison Weist chatting fiction one week with Sarah Bowen Shea and non-fiction with Coach Liz Waterstraat and Sarah the next. In about 30 minutes, the hosts entice and entertain you with plot descriptions and pearls of training (and life!) advice to guide you to your next great reads. Both shows are witty and conversational, making them great running partners because the AMR gals do all the talking—even on the uphills!

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This podcast is fun, friendly, encouraging and welcoming. I enjoy the hosts who are so wise, lighthearted, kind and down to earth. They bring in great guests, answer listener questions with appropriate guidance and are supportive of all runners, from the newer/less experienced to the veterans. They even discuss non-running movement topics such as open water swimming, pickleball, triathlon and Elliptigo.

Justine AT · Aug 2025

I have been listening for years, these gals inspired me to continue running after having kids and even to try my first marathon! Now that I have 4 kids, I do not run as much but always come back to listen for motivation, even if it’s not for running. Although- after the Iron Man episode I’m thinking of training…for at least a 10K!

Big Fan in KS · Jan 2025

I started listening to this podcast even before I had children and was looking for support through my running training. The conversation and humor brought by the hosts on each and every episode has kept me engaged through many long and arduous training miles. I look forward to every episode and the expert advice that comes along with it. Thank you, Sarah and Dimity! ❤️

rambler920 · Jan 2025

I don’t have a BRF so I take this podcast on the run and smile through my miles as Sarah, Dimity, and their variety of cohosts talk about all kinds of topics. AMR answers is my favorite because it feels like I’m hanging out with old friends who give good pointers while telling stories from their own adventures. It feels like we’re hanging out and their relatability is inspiring! The year end roundups are also some of my favorite episodes. I could listen to the hosts chat with each other all day even without people to interview.
