by Jason Fitzgerald

The Strength Running Podcast treats you like a pro runner: we surround your with coaches, physical therapists, strength experts, elite runners, sports psychologists, and other thought leaders. We only have one goal: to help you run faster. Guests include world-class academics, clinicians, runners, coaches, and subject matter experts like David Roche, Victoria Sekely, Sally McRae, Zach Bitter, and hundreds more! We also publish coaching calls with Jason working directly with a runner chasing a big goal and course previews for major races like the New York City Marathon, the Boston Marathon, the Philadelphia Marathon, and the Marine Corps Marathon. You'll learn how to prevent injuries and become resilient to niggles and common overuse injuries, the best ways to structure marathon training and how to fuel for endurance races, how to improve your speed and ability to kick at the end of races, run more consistently, and make running a more sustainable part of your life. The Strength Running Podcast is hosted by Jason Fitzgerald, a 2:39 marathoner and USATF-certified running coach. He's a monthly columnist for Trail Runner Magazine and was previously Men's Running Magazine's Influencer of the Year. His coaching advice and running guidance has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Runner's World, Health Magazine, and most other major media. What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I’ve been running for over 40 years, and now, in my late 50s, I appreciate an evidence-based approach more than ever. This podcast consistently features a diverse range of knowledgeable guests who share practical, science-backed insights on everything from workouts and nutrition to recovery. It's one of my favorite running resources, supporting my training for the long haul.

Andrea Montana · Jul 2026

Inspiring and informative . Jason’s podcast invites all sorts of people from different backgrounds and running platforms so we can learn from each of his guests. He is also a great interview host. He asks good questions and shares his experience in each conversation. I really love this podcast and I think it has helped me be a better runner.

Love’s Trails · Jul 2026

My son who attends CSU and I recently made the 14 hour drive home for the summer. We listened to this podcast straight through. After serving 4 years in the USMC, he has recently embraced running as a sport. We really enjoy the variation in topics discussed, even the “running while pregnant” one! I told him I ran right up until the week before I delivered him and he came out a lean machine of a baby! As an Exercise Science major who is now a physical therapist, I was lucky enough to have read the early research regarding training while pregnant. We love this podcast so thank you for the over 400 episodes and we look forward to many more.

FitAfter50Mom · Jun 2026

I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few weeks now and I’m liking it more and more with each episode. I appreciate the knowledgeable guests that Jason brings on as well as their ability to convey concepts and ideas in an easy to understand way and presenting actionable recommendations. Jason also brings knowledge and experience that enhances whatever the guest topic is. Thanks Jason…keep up the great work!!

Nina from irvine · May 2026

With many podcast episodes, there is a “you may like” extra download. And 5-10 mins of ads in every podcast episode. I guess money must be made but it’s rather annoying. I’m not a type A runner and this podcast used to have a good mix of episodes for all types of runners. Now it seems super performance oriented which does not speak to me. I’ve been listening for years but sadly it seems time to take a break.
