by Scicomm Media

The Huberman Lab podcast is hosted by Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., a neuroscientist and tenured professor in the department of neurobiology, and by courtesy, psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford School of Medicine. The podcast discusses neuroscience and science-based tools, including how our brain and its connections with the organs of our body control our perceptions, our behaviors, and our health, as well as existing and emerging tools for measuring and changing how our nervous system works. Huberman has made numerous significant contributions to the fields of brain development, brain function, and neural plasticity, which is the ability of our nervous system to rewire and learn new behaviors, skills, and cognitive functioning. He is a McKnight Foundation and Pew Foundation Fellow and was awarded the Cogan Award, given to the scientist making the most significant discoveries in the study of vision, in 2017.  Work from the Huberman Laboratory at Stanford School of Medicine has been published in top journals, including Nature, Science, and Cell, and has been featured in TIME, BBC, Scientific American, Discover, and other top media outlets. In 2021, Dr. Huberman launched the Huberman Lab podcast. The podcast is frequently ranked in the top 10 of all podcasts globally and is often ranked #1 in the categories of Science, Education, and Health & Fitness.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

An excellent podcast overall - I just listened to the conversation with Twyla Tharp on the creative process and it was an extremely enjoyable conversation. So many fresh interesting stories shared about all the unseen, marvelous ways we communicate and connect and create. Loved it.

Huberman podcast inspired me to seek alternatives, ask questions about my wellness and most importantly challenge me to be more!

mome187 · Nov 2025

The Huberman Lab podcast is a remarkably trustworthy and well-researched source of scientific information. Dr. Andrew Huberman presents neuroscience, physiology, and human performance with clarity, accuracy, and a balanced perspective—avoiding the sensationalism and exaggerated claims common in wellness media. Each episode translates complex science into practical tools supported by peer-reviewed research, while clearly distinguishing proven facts from emerging hypotheses. With high-level guests and thoughtful discussions, the podcast fosters critical thinking and informed self-improvement. In a landscape filled with pseudo-science and “quick fixes,” Huberman Lab stands out as a credible and valuable educational resource for anyone interested in how the brain and body truly work.

I am new subscriber and this episode was maybe the 3rd one I happened to listened to. I am interested in hearing the experiences of our service men/women especially the tier 1 operators. As I listened to this discussion and I could feel the struggles he went through. It was an engaging, educational and entertaining discussion. Especially at the end as DJ was discussing the treatment he and others like him had with psychedelics which is absolutely fascinating to me. As an interesting personal side note I happened to finish this episode as I was headed to the sierras for a camping trip. During that trip I happened to meet a young gentleman on mountain biking excursion. I find out he is a neuroscientist who is doing research with veterans who experienced TBI. Turns out this young man actually works for the lab headed by Dr Huberman at Stanford. What serendipitous encounter.

I tuned into some episodes based on the compelling people he interviewed. But reading about how he treats the people in his life (Google it ) made me realize that much of the self-improvement appeal of his podcast is hollow. You can’t cold-plunge away your tendency to treat other people as expendable resources. Not to mention, he should do better to stick to his lane (neuroscience) — seems the quest for fame and money loosened his restraint on that front.

someburnername · Dec 2024

As a doctor, I think someone needs to throw up a red flag on the peptide podcast — it was repeatedly stated that there are “no side effects” to these peptides. It was also repeatedly normalized to take peptides that have no human trials and some of which are literally banned. When it came up that one causes anaphylaxis, you guys made a JOKE about it and moved on very quickly. That’s absolutely incredible. There was no balance to this discussion whatsoever, and yet it was repeatedly stated that listeners should trust this doctor who is obviously Andrew’s friend. This podcast has taken a very dangerous turn from focusing on evidence based habit change.
