What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Love the variety of people Michael interviews. Every episode I learn something new and am exposed to information I wouldn’t normally think about. Michael is good at collecting a lot of research and condensing it down and then talking to some of the best experts. Love the 2% podcast and website and Michael’s books. Highly recommend giving it a listen for great life coaching advice.

I first discovered Michael’s work years ago through The Comfort Crisis, and it made a lasting impact. After getting so much value from that book, I became a subscriber to his Substack. When he launched the podcast, I’ll admit I was skeptical as it felt like it might just be a way to repackage existing content for more views. After listening to multiple episodes, that skepticism disappeared. The podcast isn’t a repeat of his earlier work; it’s a fresh platform where he explores new ideas, brings on fascinating guests, and stays current with emerging research that actually matters to me. He’s expanded the concept of “discomfort” far beyond physical challenges, pushing into mental, social, and professional growth in ways that genuinely stretch what’s possible for the show. I look forward to every new episode because I know it’s going to challenge how I think, why I act the way I do, and how I show up tomorrow, usually for the better.

Donny G OKC · Sep 2026

Great guests but host interrupts them a LOT so the flow isn't really there. Also the ads pop in with no warning so it can be really jarring to listen to. Less interruption overall would make this 5 stars.

CMN586 · Jun 2026

After just the first two episodes I’m hooked. Pun intended. The guests have been fascinating, and the thought provoking questions that Michael asks pulls the best out of them.

Nsturm3 · Apr 2026

I adore the idea of this podcast, and it has moments of value, but for the most part, it comes off sounding like, “Me, me, me.” Michael falls victim to that old “I’m a former addict” trope where, because they are recovered addicts, they think they have more wisdom & clout than anyone who never fell victim to addiction in the first place. Or, this is intentionally a podcast for former addicts, encouraging them to become addicted to fitness challenges over substances. That’s fine, but state your purpose accurately. There is absolutely zero reason for his history of addiction to come up in every. single. episode. and it really takes you out of the intended story; it feels like you’re listening to The All About Michael Podcast instead of something that might potentially improve your quality of life. I’ll give it one more try to see if it sticks to topics and themes touted in the trailer, but after that, I’m out. Update: I’m out. It’s all people talking about themselves as lifestyle gurus & selling stuff.
