What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I have been listening for years. This podcast has been there for me when family and church could not/would not be there in those darkest moments when my marriage fell apart. This podcast has been there when I couldn’t afford counseling. Eric asks the questions that are always on the tip of my tongue! He truly yearns for knowledge and healing and growth as I do. I have been looking for a community of people so I can share what I have learned in this podcast. I also am always looking for people who think like Eric and interact the way he does. This podcast gives me hope. Even if I don’t find people like Eric, I know they are out there. I cannot begin to show the gratitude I feel for this podcast. Eric is also so respectful even if he doesn’t always agree with people and his guests are as well. That’s so refreshing in this society. So many people do not know how to disagree with respect for each other and that doesn’t make any sense to me. I’ve longed to tell people all I have learned through the challenges I have faced and this podcast is wonderful because all those things I have learned are discussed here and this information is reaching people ! Again thank you!!

The one you feed has been incredibly impactful in my life. I’ve been listening since around 2014/2015 and have watched you guys grow and step into your voice. You guys are amazing and I don’t know why I’m only saying this now after all this time but please keep doing what you are doing. I have used your show to help navigate emotions and addiction and life since I was a teenager and I’m so grateful it and you guys exist. All the love

The quality of the guests and depth of ideas is unmatched. If I were to offer a suggestion, it would be this: sometimes Eric lets his enthusiasm dictate the conversations. If you’ve listened to multiple episodes, you’re familiar with Eric’s story and approach, but generally not those of the guests. I wish he would dial back his comments and instead let the guests expound at length on their own ideas and experiences. I agree with those who say the parable becomes repetitive, and I forward through the first part each time. Maybe a version of the parable itself could go in the show description instead of in each show?

I’ve been listening to The One You Feed for a few years now, and I’ve loved so many episodes…too many to name. But the April 17 episode, where Tommy was coached by you, Eric, truly stood out to me. I saw so much of myself in Tommy. Everything he shared resonated deeply, and the coaching you provided was incredibly impactful. It didn’t just help him…it helped me too. As I am sure many other listeners! Thank you for creating an episode like this. I really hope you continue to do more coaching sessions like it…they’re powerful and meaningful in a way that goes beyond just listening. And thank you, Tommy, for your openness and vulnerability. Your story was so relatable and made me feel less alone. I’m truly grateful!

The idea and intention of this podcast are great. As are many of the talented and intriguing guests. But the host, Eric, can’t seem to resist interrupting, talking over guests, and interjecting his own experience.
