Being a health care worker I find it important to understand more aspects of mental health and pathways for people to rebuild their mental health. I highly recommend this podcast!
It’s unfortunate that mental health and addiction is still so hard to talk about, especially when it comes to just getting questions answered accurately and without judgement. RECOVERable does just that, and I cannot wait to listen to more of their experts unpack addiction and mental health. If you aren’t subscribed you need to be!!!!
Many people with mental health or addiction disorders not only look for help, but understanding what is happening to them. Including what treatments look like and are possible for them with their own disorders. This podcast helps with those questions and in turn, those who need help too
I love that they bring on clinical experts you don’t always see easily. There’s so much noise on social media and podcast and the credibility of the guests helps cut through that.
The interviews on eating disorders were great and I was excited to listen to more wonderful in depth wisdom here. Unfortunately there are several interviews that share a very pharmaceutical approach to addictions, including drugs manufactured by the same companies that promoted the opioids and a medication that requires medical supervision for withdrawal, a dangerous choice for those who may not have the means to access this. Some of the information shared minimizes the impact of side effects while making optimistic claims about the benefits. “Information” shared here should be double checked in other resources.
