Welcome to Ringer Tailgate—the college football show where sharp analysis, wild banter, and just the right amount of chaos collide. Van Lathan, Joel Anderson, and Tate Frazier are your sideline squad for SEC showdowns, Big Ten brawls, West Coast weirdness, and everything in between. It’s your ultimate CFB hangout: smarter than your average fan forum, but way more fun than your coach’s press conference. New episodes drop every Wednesday, and you can catch the crew live on YouTube every Saturday evening throughout the season.

Ringer Tailgate may be the funniest and most entertaining podcast currently airing. I’ve been listening to Van Lathan on Bill Simmons’ podcasts for years. Van takes his entertaining takes to the next level on Ringer Tailgate with Tate Frazier and Joel Anderson. The magic of this show is the chemistry. These guys rag on each other like they’re just hanging out while watching a game. Most episodes I LOL and usually it’s when they’re not even talking about football. With Van they have quick witted Tate and Joel. I don’t know what to say about Joel. I don’t know if his on air persona is a gimmick or if he’s really that quirky. It’s indescribable but often carries the show because Tate and Van always call him on it. One recurring example is Joel mispronouncing Tulane. Joel can give as good as he gets, however, rubbing it in that he’s the only credentialed journalist on the show and making fun of Van’s relationship with Simmons. These guys are funnier than any combination of guests with Simmons. College football season may be over but this podcast will stay at the top of my rotation for the sheer entertainment value.
I am obsessed with this podcast-I look forward to every episode. Come for the sports talk, stay for the hilarity. I legit spit out my water during the 227 story. YOU KNOW I’M A G.
This has been my favorite new podcast of the year but the audio quality is making it nearly unlistenable. Tare’s mic is way too loud but Van and Joel sound like they are in the depths of a large cave. The discrepancy is such that I can’t turn it up enough to hear them without blasting my ears when Tate talks. Please adjust the audio!
I LOVE these guys! Whether they are talking about college football news, LSU (which Van will for sure), TCU (which Joel will for sure), or who created “raising the roof” (I’m on Team Joel) it will always be a great hang podcast! Tate is a great host to keep things on track and still slipping in a funny quip or burn.
I really enjoy listening to all three of these guys in other Ringer pods. BUT, all three of them seem to be incapable of turning their TCU, LSU and ACC fandom off when they do this pod. So unless you’re a fan of LSU or TCU or an ACC school, it’s really a waste of time to listen to the 90-120 minute episodes that have an inordinate amount of time committed to those subjects.
The guys are good at bringing energy and knowledge. They get way off topic sometimes like all Ringer podcasts. The thing that gets me is that they have some of the most aggressive ads. Listening to the newest episode and by minute 4, there are two ad breaks and they are edited in a way that cuts the hosts off almost mid-sentence. Some podcasts open with an ad and then within 2 minutes, another stupid ad. It is an immediate buzzkill every time.
