It’s a great show, your draft coverage and takes on prospects are better than anyone out there. The constant talk every episode about how you need to wrap it up, or move quicker, or it’s gotta only be an hour or whatever doesn’t work. Todd likes to riff, and sure some stories drag a bit long.. however, most of it is awesome. The cool part about podcasting is you can make it as long as you want. Your boss, bill, has 2+ hour shows constantly and I listen to the whole thing. Joe Rogan , 3+ hours… I and many others listen to the whole thing. This isn’t espn where you’ve gotta hit commercials at the right time and only have an hour. We want as much content as we can get, so don’t shorten things intentionally. We will listen, and we want the longer content. The show is great outside of that
I have been listening for a year and this is the most comprehensive deep dive into player and team evaluations. Todd and Steve “Mensch” understand college football and prepare the draft like I’m sitting in a scouts meeting. Love their insights. And their ability to discuss what they are seeing on tape. During the season they break down the teams and aren’t afraid to go deep into obscure references and players. My only complaint. Let Mensch talk more.
Elite Pod. Love the segments with the different GM’s. McShay and Muench give the best insight and focus on all players, not just the big schools.
I love this podcast for the insight and film breakdown. I’ve actually started using it for prospecting in the sports card industry. Thank you for all you guys do and bring to the listeners. Name idea for your slot/nickel underrated player segment: Slot Machines (brought to you by FanDuel?)
I generally like McShay, but this podcast spends too much time talking about the podcast, the draft guides you can get elsewhere, newsletters you can sign up for, and then patting themselves on the back for the amount of work they are putting in. Add to that the very poor audio techniques and lack of voice control and this just isn’t a good listen despite the actual football talk being decent when it actually happens. I’ll check back in several months from now when maybe this thing is presented better.
I love the amount of information Todd has but the podcast episodes leading up to the draft was just one big infomercial mixed in with two guys patting themselves on the back about how great they are and how much work they put into their big draft board which you can get for the low low cost of $1. This show has advertisers you’re already making money just please dispense the information. Thank you
