I need to start by saying I LOVED ATN! It was by far my favorite podcast and on days there was no episode, I’d listen to past episodes. Like most fans, this summer chaos was horrible and it was heartbreaking that A) the NFL would actually get rid of 2/3 of their most popular podcast and B) that Gregg didn’t leave with the other heroes. Now, this is not a bash on Gregg. While he was never my favorite hero he seems like he made the best choice for him and his family. I can’t blame him for that. But I had to make a choice here. I listen to HTC and NFL Daily all season and, for me, it’s not close. HTC has most of what I loved about ATN. Now, is it perfect? No! Dan and Marc need someone to reign them in sometimes and focus their attention and Gravedigger is not that. But the positives outweigh the negatives here and I am choosing the heroes of the HTC podcast!
The pod is so entertaining! Great thoughtful football talk, with just the right mix of humor and fun👍
Pardon My Take is my go to show, but I listen to this often as well. This show gives a better overview of the games, and is more serious - but not too serious. They’re silly and overall likable, and they paint a great picture of the games with their words.
So glad Dan and Marc are back! Fun and great NFL content. And I love your new team. Jourdan, Michael-Shawn and Conor are fun and interesting. The banter led by the New-Old-Blue-Eyes is as good as ever. I still miss Chris. His take take on games and teams was unique and frequently stirred up your old team. Jourdan’s laugh is infectious. Her humor meshes well with Tugboat. Wish Colleen, Nick and Patrick could be on the show again. And I think the Underdog podcast is one of the best.
Gave 17 weeks of the flagship show (recap) a try but the vibes are simply awful. Dan is miserable. Marc is an incredible writer but provides very little substance in this format, where his outlook on a team is so surface level based on their most recent performance. Between Graver, Orr and the hosts, they often come off like they hate football. So far, a failed experiment to recreate the magic of the ATN
2013-2020 the show was just so perfect. I get that life happens, nothing stays the same, people die. I’ll always be so grateful for the joy the previous show brought me. Nothing changes that. This current interaction is fine, and I love Mark’s Monologues, I wish Dan didn’t say something somewhat sexist every single episode. Jordan is the brains behind the dialogue and I always learn so much. The other guy is fine but neither adds anything or detracts, he’s just there. As of now, it’s a 3 star sports show, maybe it gets better but I doubt it.
