The show has been night and day since the switch-up of the cast (miss Katie Stats tho). Big Ev while an arrogant Ohio State fan, is incredibly knowledgeable and will give Michigan credit when due. Liam Blutman is a bizarre enigma but informs the masses on teams you don’t know about (G5, FCS, weaker P5 teams). After PMT this is the show I make sure to check out each week, just wish the upload schedule was a little more consistent as it never seems to be known when new episodes come out on days they say they’re uploading.

The podcast gives you 4 unique perspectives, all of which I enjoy and each bringing something different to the podcast. I'm a college football fan, but don't watch games all day Saturday, but listening to this podcast keeps me in the loop on what is happening and also gives ideas for betting on games. Not necessarily from the picks they give directly but based off of the 4 opinions you'll get while listening to the show. Awesome job- Kayce, Jack Mac, Katie Stats and BFW. Can't wait until next season.

Unnecessary Roughness is my favorite podcast, and if you love college football it will be your favorite, too. Brandon and Kayce are great co-hosts and their genuine passion for the sport and their schools comes through every time. This is an immediate must-listen for me every time a new episode is released.

I’m not an avid Barstool listener, but I enjoy some of their content and was looking for a podcast with a more “entertaining” take on CFB (most of the CFB-focused podcasts I’ve listened to are very dry) so I tried out a few of these episodes. First, I’ll say I can appreciate the passion some of these folks have - Blutman and T-Bob seem to genuinely care about the macro-CFB environment and I respect that. The praise ends there though - I don’t know that I’ve ever listened to a podcast with less chemistry. In the few weeks of episodes I’ve listened to I’ve heard Brandon and Kayce allude to working together for a while - this genuinely shocks me based on the way they constantly yell at and over one another, bicker and disrupt the flow of the show. I don’t find 45 minutes of screaming at one another over two SEC schools very enjoyable or entertaining - the episode after the MS State-Texas A&M game was the worst of it. Maybe this dynamic is more enjoyable if you you’re an avid Barstool follower? The other guys are fine, but ultimately I feel like they’re bolted onto a dysfunctional core with the current Kayce-Brandon dynamic. I also feel like none of the other guys have a chance to make an impression given how many people are on the show. Finally, it feels like there’s no prep at all for some of these shows - even 15 minutes of coordination prior to recording feels like it would pay major dividends here (all having different games to talk about, having stats ready, etc).
TLDR: It seems like of these people are passionate about the sport at a macro-level, but ultimately bad chemistry, too many cooks in the kitchen and a lack of prep make this podcast (in its current state) not a great time.

The woman on the show likes to act like she has some sort of insight to give but her opinions on college football tend to be generic and with little substance. Also she somehow will bring any discussion back to Texas AM. The loud guys opinions have at least some thought put behind them a majority of the time. Not sure why the other guy (Jack I believe) is there. He doesn’t seem to contribute anything of value. The audio is also weird and not the same level which needs to be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing.
