I’ve been listening to John for over eight years, going back to when he was in California around the Marin County area. What I enjoy most about his show is the style, it feels like things you’d hear sitting around with buddies, going back and forth and talking through real topics without pretense. John does a great job weaving in insights and anecdotes from his past experiences to where he is today. I appreciate that he doesn’t sugarcoat his views. The world we live in is cutthroat, and he leans into that reality instead of dancing around it. Above all, his grit and grind haven’t changed. The same drive and edge that hooked me years ago are still there today. Overall, it’s a great show if you’re looking for honest, direct, and colorful takes. Keep it going Middlekauff!

Started listening regularly a couple years before John joined the volume around 2020 and haven’t missed many episodes. Popularity has certainly grown recently. For new subscribers here’s some things to know. He knows what he’s talking about regarding football and sticks to his takes. What’s always been my favorite thing about the show is he does “mailbag questions”. These are DMs sent to him that can make him vulnerable and these questions aren’t just from friends or big names they can come from anyone. The fact he still does this given his increased popularity is awesome. Shows he cares about the consumer (a.k.a. the people paying his bills). He’s a football/golf guy who loves to gamble so he talks a lot about the business side of football. Being a former scout he has a lot of front office opinions. Output has decreased slightly in last year in regard to podcasts. Overall great podcast geared towards the ages of men/women (more so men) between the ages of 18-50. Would highly recommend giving it a try if you like football. You’ll find out quickly if it’s for you or not.

Dont mind some advertising for good content but the amount of commercials in a typical episode is horrifying. Content is normally good similar (sometimes too similar) to cowherd’s pod. If you handle nonstop ads this pod might be for you.
