What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Thank you for these great podcasts covering fascinating topics with subject matter experts. I’ve learned so much useful, applicable information about the latest thinking in health. Appreciate Peter’s conversational style and clarifications for non-technical listeners. Wish I could get an NMR panel test somewhere!

I’m now 72 and have been doing endurance exercise for most of my life. I have enjoyed the benefits from this of good health (no metabolic disease, rarely get sick, and can still ride mountain bikes with much younger people.) I discovered Peter Attia’s podcast a few years ago and have enjoyed listening to many of them. I especially like it that he bases his recommendations on studies from the medical literature, and that he isn’t trying to sell supplements and other products. I believe, as he does, that exercise, a balanced diet, attention to getting enough sleep are the keys to good health. But I’m using his podcast to try to learn some additional details to increase my lifespan and importantly as I look ahead, healthspan.

A podcast rooted in solid, fact-based science. Such a breath of fresh air. I’ve learned so much! Thank you, Peter.

Attia takes the most difficult and complex medical and scientific information and helps normal people like me implement it into their health and into their lives. His podcasts have made a huge, positive impact on my wellbeing and my family’s, as well. Attia Rocks! Keep this content coming, Dr. Attia!

I’ve listened to The Drive for quite a while, but I’m finally done. What once felt informative now feels repetitive, overly complicated, and unnecessarily long. The same guests and themes keep cycling through, while relatively simple principles—eat well, get enough protein, exercise, sleep—are stretched into two-hour discussions filled with increasingly convoluted science. At some point, it starts to feel less like education and more like a content and membership machine that needs to keep producing reasons for us to tune in. The continued push toward paid membership only reinforces that impression. And the Epstein controversy certainly didn’t help my perception of the enterprise. There’s valuable information here, but I’ve reached the point where I’d rather spend those two hours actually exercising than listening to someone explain, yet again, why I should.

There is no doubt that Peter is exceptionally bright and talented. However, there seems to be a strong aversion to turning the highly technical and medical concepts into practical applications for the listener. He almost seems to want to avoid offering practical advice and relishes in my minutia of medical findings. This podcast and his book could be much more successful if there was a greater balance between the technical and the practical, it is this reason why I don’t listen to the podcast as much. Coming from someone with a PhD.
