As an MD/PHD student preparing to return to clinic, the NEJM podcast is perfect for keeping up to date on clinical practice while on the go. The format is perfect for a quick listen and the narrator is clear and concise.

I think the narration is excellent! Very clear and easy to listen to -not sure why someone would label it "annoying".
As a licensed clinical Social Worker who practices in an ambulatory oncology setting it is vital that I maintain a current knowledge of Cancer diagnosis and treatment as well as of the general U.S. Medical landscape if I am to be an effective advocate for and psycho-educator of the patients and families I support.
NEJM weekly summary is a wonderful part of my routine learning.
The Journal is fabulous and the summary is clear, succinct, and elucidating.

Great to listen on the go! Would be improved by time stamping each article similar to other podcasts (see the Rachel Maddow show) so you could move quickly to the article you ar interested in

First time listener here! Overall, I really loved the episode I listened to. After reading other reviews, I realized I might be a unique listener as I am not yet an MD. I have completed a bachelor degree and will be matriculating in Fall 2026. I have 6 years experience working in emergency medicine as a nursing assistant. I came to the podcast to broaden my knowledge before medical school, and possibly learn something that may help patients I encounter. I was familiar with a good amount of the language, but felt like I needed to refresh on some of it! I was able to refer back to my lecture and research notes to refresh. The pod is a really great learning tool to that effect. I wouldn’t suggest the pod should “dumb down” the information so to speak because it seems the target audience understands the information well. I think it may just be me who has to pause and review notes to remember what some of the verbiage means. However, I would suggest the voice be more human-like. She sounded like a robot. While I still was intrigued by the information, the voice was at times very unnatural and off-putting for me. Regardless, I will be back to listen to the pod because after about 45 minutes (with my pausing and what not), I refreshed on immunology, endocrinology, and IHC and ELISA research techniques. Pretty good use of my time!

If you’re going to create a podcast of some of the most impactful clinical research in the world, have it delivered by engaged experts who can put it in context, and deliver it with some enthusiasm. As it currently stands, I find it difficult to listen to the dry monotone descriptions, which lack context, and miss opportunities to deliver important take-home messages.
