What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Started listening when my son was 5 months old and it has absolutely filled my life and parenting journey with a wealth of confidence, joy, knowledge and Fun as I let my kid be a kid outdoors, but also have some really solid science backing that and encouraging it all the time! Absolutely love this podcast.

!!!get outside!!! · May 2025

I stumbled upon 1000 Hours Outside completely by accident and was immediately hooked. Ginny is the most knowledgeable host. It always amazes me how studied she is on each guest. The guests are all so unique and have their own experience to offer. Love, love, love this podcast!

GraceE428 · May 2025

I don’t know if I was initially drawn in by Ginny’s genuine nature and relatability, or for the inspiring and fascinating interviews she conducts, but this podcast is immensely valuable. If it wasn’t free, I’d pay to listen because I gain so much. It’s given me many new tools as a parent; I feel well equipped for navigating the challenges of being a mom in our modern world. Thank you, Ginny, for leading this movement and helping to restore the best of childhood.

Macfammama · May 2025

I really enjoy parts of this podcast. Ginny is so enthusiastic and curious and you can tell she enjoys interviewing her guests. Kirk Martin’s episode was so helpful and he’s been a favorite follow of mine since. I love Ginny’s mission and passion for getting outside with your kids. However, there is a clear and consistent “pseudoscience” bent to this podcast. Some of her guests are promoting fringe or blatantly false ideas about seed oils, vaccination, pharmaceuticals, even neurodivergence and mental health. Ginny has also been open about her support of RFK Jr., which is concerning. I think open dialogue about a wide variety of topics is important, but I’d love to hear guests who aren’t promoting misinformation in the name of “health”.
