Running · Joey Metzger
by Joey Metzger
Confession...I am a slow but persistent trail runner who likes to take on crazy trail running adventures. This is a podcast about the weird world of running, trail running and ultramarathons. Mostly from the perspective of the back of the pack...ordinary people trying to do extra-ordinary things. Topics will focus on gear, health, nutrition, training, trails and trail races around MN and the Midwest, and also taking a look all of this through the lens of older runners. Get ready for an ultra slow, but highly optimistic ride. We will get to that finish line, even if we are...running behind.

I absolutely love the Running Behind podcast! Joey has a real gift for making every episode feel welcoming, whether he’s sharing his solo thoughts or chatting with guests. I especially appreciate how inclusive and encouraging he is to runners of all backgrounds and paces-there’s always something relatable and uplifting in each episode. The conversations are genuine, and Joey’s passion for running (and for building a positive community) shines through. If you’re looking for motivation, laughs, and a reminder that running is for everyone, I can’t recommend this podcast enough!
Loved the first episode Joey! Loved hearing about what got you to where you are now! And a skydiving injury?!?! Not many people can say that!!! I am very much looking forward to the future episodes!
