Was mostly impressed by this podcast until the episode with the book author, which felt largely speculative and exploitative. It also began with a major and obvious flub from the host, Armstrong, who opened the show with a line about “the state of Ohio versus Kohberger.” A decent listen but in general, this podcast would’ve benefited from more careful attention to detail throughout, and fewer attempts at sensationalism.

The episodes play the same clips over and over again. If you don’t have new material, why not just condense it all into a few episodes rather than drag it out over seasons?

Great podcast but the latest episode added nothing but a book plug. That would have been fine except the author is unlikable. Couldn’t finish that episode but hopefully next weeks is as good as the first 4.

I liked the Piketon Massacre seasons but I am not crazy about the Idaho Massacre seasons. The Piketon episodes kept me riveted and I could hardly wait to listen to the next episode. Please research the area better if you are not familiar with the location. It could be that I am very familiar with the area in Idaho. One of the guests who wrote a book kept pronouncing Moscow (moss-co) as moss-cow. The school across from the Latah County Courthouse is a high school. High school students in Idaho don’t get recess. Moscow is a small town when the university isn’t in session however, Latah County contains several other small communities that they can pull from for the jury pool.

I assumed this series so far had good journalistic integrity and fact-checking, but the most recent episode featured a lawyer from the Heritage Foundation that clearly didn’t know what he was talking about regarding forensic science. PCR is not “polychromase… reaction” and his definition of it was also incorrect. The producers didn’t bother to fact check anything he said, and the choice of “expert” is questionable considering he presented incorrect information & what the Heritage Foundation does. The producers chose to platform an influential fascist & far-right organization trying to turn America on its head… during an election year where this org is rapidly trying to gain influence. A bizarre choice considering this series has nothing to do with politics. Due to the clear lack of journalistic integrity & complete lack of fact-checking, listeners can no longer trust any information or “expert” presented on this podcast.

Episodes are filled with stupid errors that should be easily caught. For example, in on episode they are referring the court case and the narrator says Ohio vs Kohberger insisted of Idaho vs Kohberger. The title of the show is called The Idaho Massacre, how does an editor or fact checker miss that? There are other simple errors that should be caught in every episode. It just seems like the producers/journalist are just pumping out content for the sake of making content instead of wanting to tell the story accurately.
