My favorite podcast - always something new and different to hear. I’ve learned so much. It’s made me laugh, made me cry, made me feel. And I love Phoebe’s voice!
Interesting story, well written and produced, but the host’s halting delivery and awkward intonation made it hard to listen to the fascinating story.
I’ve listened to a lot of true crime podcasts(actually, all kinds of podcasts), and nothing compares to Criminal. Brilliantly written and delivered, I always learn something new and interesting while being fascinated with the storyline. I think Phoebe Judge’s voice is the most soothing voice I’ve ever heard— how else could I absorb all the cruelties of crime without feeling assaulted? Five stars all the way, and it just keeps getting better!
Valentine episode really got me, I just lost my grandmother and hearing those wonderful stories and insight was so amazing. Forwarded the episode link to my aunt and mom. 🥰 The most recent episode “family land part one“ I literally guessed at the end! Can’t wait for part two Phoebe! And almost drove off the road lol
So tired of these cash grabs. $50/yr for ad-free is ridiculous in and of itself, but to taunt listeners with “here’s what you can’t listen to unless you cough up cash” is tasteless. If you want to make all the “good” stuff only available for paying listeners, then set up a separate feed just for them. This pod is nothing but ads, and now we have to listen to Phoebe tell us how much we’re missing by not paying for monthly or annual access. Used to be a good interesting historical crime podcast, it’s just not the same with the incessant badgering for money to fund her affluent lifestyle. Go kick rocks, Pheebs.
I have been listening to this podcast from the very beginning, and was so happy to have discovered it. The content was unique, engaging, and insightful. Over the years, it has evolved into a podcast about very obscure and historical material, that has lost my interest. One must listen to nearly the entire episode before any criminal element is even introduced. The earlier episodes seemed truer to the genre, but lately, this feels like listening to an esoteric history lesson.
