I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for something like this podcast. I have been out of practice for years, doing CE’s to keep my license active, and desperately searching for practical information that actually informs the fundamentals and beyond. I am headed back to the hospital and this is easing my nerves. Thank you for your work here and I hope it continues for a long time.

I started listening to this podcast when I was in nursing school and never stopped! At this point, I’ve been an ICU nurse for four years. I appreciate being able to brush up on a wide variety of topics, since I work in such a specialized field (the Burn ICU). Having said this, I have a slight correction for Nurse Mo. recently the burn episode was re-aired, along with a new burn pod-quiz. Both had the same (very common) error that I wanted to point out to make sure your listeners aren’t overestimating burn size! The Palmar Method is actually named after Dr. Palmar, not the body part- in fact, an estimated 1% of the patient’s TBSA would be measured by the patient’s entire hand (palm and fingers). The more you know 😅

I appreciate the valuable clinical content in this nursing podcast, particularly the discussion on pain scales and drug-seeking behavior. However, one example given about a patient eating fried chicken and laughing came across as culturally insensitive and in poor taste. I think a more neutral, individualized example would help avoid reinforcing stereotypes and ensure that all listeners feel respected.
