What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I’m so glad to have found this podcast. I love how you tell the story of the victims, genuinely and with compassion. I especially like how you call out flawed police work with detente, instead of bashing them with your own personal bias. Great stuff!

onthegoonabudget · Apr 2026

I love true crime and I especially love cold cases. But this podcast isn’t for me. It’s nothing but monotone reading, like how that one kid in your high school class would read when the teacher called on them. It’s hard to listen to and harder still to keep up with the story since the presentation has nothing engaging about it.

Sillyvallie · Mar 2026

This podcast is such a great follow up to ice cold case (also a great podcast). The show features a different cold case every episode and so far all of them have been super compelling and horrifying that they are still cold. Definitely a must listen

rjcv1028 · Mar 2026

I am a bit picky when it comes to podcasts. I easily bail or fast forward specific parts. I absolutely love this podcast and look forward to every episode. There is a different note of empathy for the victim and isn’t self righteous, and comes without blame of law enforcement. I enjoy the balance and the matter of fact empathetic cadence.

Rachel Bentley Munz · Mar 2026

Too many amateur mistakes with the narration, including monotone voice, audio ducking or gating causing the narrator’s voice to randomly drop out. This detracts from the show’s potential. In this day and age easy to do a bit of research on how to record a professional sounding podcast before getting started. The room reverb is completely avoidable, and greatly diminishes the impact of the show. Research some simple sound control techniques for your recording room. Possibly get a less sensitive mic ands sit closer.
