The Binge Crimes: What Happened to the Harrisons?

by Sony Music Entertainment

From the outside, 3635 Pitch Pine Crescent looked like the kind of home where nothing bad could happen, the gathering place for every birthday and holiday. Until one spring night when tragedy struck. In less than five years, three people would end up dead in the same house. Each time, the authorities found a way to explain it away. But the family who loved them knew something was wrong. Host Amy Dempsey Raven, an investigative reporter for the Toronto Star, spent more than a decade asking what really happened inside that house. Incredible story-telling! I could not stop listening for the twists and turns. A binge-worthy true-crime story on one level but in the bigger picture - a completely tragic travesty of justice and story that really needs to be told! The victims in this story have been shockingly let down again and again. Definitely worth a listen!

If you think you’ve seen and heard Collier Landry’s story, listen at least one more time…to this podcast. It’s heartbreaking, yes. But this storyteller takes the details and the interviews to a whole new level. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve followed this since it first aired on Forensic Files….yes I’m that old! But I’m still affected. Thank you Collier, for continuing to share your pain with us. We love you dearly.

Love the female narrator she does a phenomenal job and I genuinely enjoy listening to her! I love true crime & it’s hard to find a good podcast. I hate to judge or hurt anyone, but the male grates on me his intonation makes it really hard to follow along. Please have the female narrate and the male stay behind the scenes.

Calinova · Jun 2026

This was an interesting piece with spunky East coaster narration- love the accent of the host! Eye opening expose regarding the conspicuous consumption of the ultra rich. Helpful to be aware of cultural trends which are so financially predatory and mounting.

This podcast, for 80% of its run, asks us to take very seriously the moral wrong done to a family and to the police and to an entire community during a very scary time. We can feel how fearful the community must have been, we can see the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and thousands of hours of police time that were used to try to solve this crime. We can see that many detectives uprooted their lives to try to protect a family from this evil. Then — at the end of the podcast we are told that the perpetrator of this crime bears no responsibility for it and is a “courageous” “hero.” There is no accountability whatsoever for the evil acts. There is no accountability whatsoever for the harm this person did to their family and the police and the city. It is infantilizing to the perpetrator. They are never seen as an adult who has moral responsibility. One can recognize that people act out of psychological damage, without excusing their actions and making them into “heroes.” Many people have traumatizing events happen in their youth, and they seek help - without terrorizing their communities. They are the actual heroes. Not this person. The moral framing at the end betrayed the entire podcast. Save yourself the frustration.

This is a classic example of a 1 or 2 hour story stretched out and delivered in a several 30-minute, commercial-packed episodes. I unsubscribed after 4 episodes. Great to listen to on a long road trip maybe, but that’s about it. It’s definitely not a podcast that you’ll be eagerly awaiting the next episode.
