What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I am a surgical CVICU RN in Portland Oregon and I love this podcast. I enjoy learning and appreciate the way Nick and Mark approach discussions and teach. I have listened to ep 57 three times now- and I will probably listen to it again. For the record- I like the banter. It shows personality. I have tried another critical care podcast and found it to be sterile. I might try others, but I like Nick and Mark. I relate. Cheers! Oh- and as for a suggestion- I would love to hear a back- to the-basics on infection (How significant is the identification of gram negative rods vs positive or clusters, etc.) and antibiotic selection. Looking forward to it!!

I’ve been an avid listener for over two years now as an RN in the ICU. It’s been a great help in establishing a foundation and reducing the knowledge gap with providers. I have listened to this podcast throughout my deployment to keep my mind thinking clinically in a role that is often not clinical. It’s been great to zone out and just think about medicine and nursing and not my job. Thanks for all that you guys do!

I’m a new NP starting in a medical ICU in Montana and I appreciate you both so much for all of the information you provide! I do not come from an ICU background but did work as a nurse for several years in an ER, so I appreciate you taking time to explain everything in terms I understand and detail that is critical to me as a provider. I appreciate the format with exam, diagnosis, and treatment as well. Giving differentials is also really beneficial. It has helped me so much so far and I hope you continue this podcast!

KDM NP · Feb 2026

I’m an acute care nurse practitioner doing palliative care with a love for critical care and this podcast is incredible. There is so much information and it’s fantastic for anyone dealing with critically ill patients be it those who directly manage or, like myself, are consultant services wanting to make sure my own critical care knowledge is as up to date as possible. Thank you so much!!
