Biscuits & Jam

by Southern Living

In the South, food and music go hand in hand. They define much of what we think of as Southern culture, and they say a lot about our past, our present, and our future. Each week, Sid Evans, Editor in Chief of Southern Living, sits down with musicians, chefs, and other Southern icons to hear the stories of how they grew up, what inspires them, and why they feel connected to the region. Through honest conversations, Sid explores childhood memories, the family meals they still think about, and the intersection of food and music in their lives. Always surprising, always engaging, Biscuits & Jam is a celebration of the South—and the people who are moving it forward every day. New episodes every Tuesday.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Sid is the BEST host!!!! He makes guests feel welcome and allows them to open up to the audience. You can tell he’s done his research in the questions he asks. And I love his regular questions about food and traditions and what it means to be southern. Even when I don’t know the guest, I enjoy every episode. I love learning about people and this is the perfect platform for it.

Discriminatory taste · Sep 2026

Sid feels like a kind friend who I could sit down with and have a sweet tea. He is so good at interviewing all kinds of interesting guests. His voice is soothing and calm and warm, and just makes you want to listen more. He brings out the best in his guests and I always enjoy listening, even when I have not previously known his guests. Excellent podcast. Thank you for reminding me how much I love the South! (Ole Miss grad and now back in the Midwest)

berry1470 · Jun 2026

I look forward to this every week! I find the best books, recipes and music based on the guests. Great host and great complement to the magazine I have loved my whole life!
