What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I’ve been listening for years and always look forward to hearing anney and Lauren conversing about food-related topics. I like that they’re real people, non-partisan, and always talking about fun and interesting topics. I almost feel like they’re friends and enjoy being able to listen to their shows every week

If you've ever listened to How Stuff Works podcasts, you’ll be familiar with the pace a patter of Savor. It’s not just about the topic, it’s also about the Southern speed of the dialogue (i.e. slowwww) and the complete absence of stress, politics, or anything else that might keep you awake at night. It’s perfect for falling to sleep, cleaning, cooking—any simple task that might be more pleasant with a bit of light distraction going on in the background.

I love this show. This is not your standard type of food show, and definitely not a cooking show. If you dig history, nerding out on subjects, side tracks, and so on, you should love this show. It has a down to earth feel. You may find yourself craving all different kinds of things.

Aric Buckholt · Mar 2024

Love the research and humor. I’ve been listening for years and they always make me smile.

As a foodways historian, I love listening to anything related to the topic. This would be one of my more favorite podcasts but I just cannot stomach listening to the hosts. The over-the-top vocal “flourish” that they add to just about everything is incredibly annoying. Can you please just use a normal speaking voice? It constantly feels like I’m watching the SNL skit, Master Thespian.

name_not_important_80 · Oct 2022

I’ve been listening to this podcast since it’s beginning & I loved it. I never enjoyed they’re interview style but I just skipped those episodes. But it has become less of a food show & more about their personal likes, experiences & personal chit chat that has little to nothing to do with the topic. I came to the end of my patience on a recent episode when they didn’t get to the actual topic until 15 minutes into the episode. Enough. If there’s people that enjoy that sort of thing put it in a special behind it he scenes episode. I’m just here for the food & that doesn’t seem to be their focus anymore.
