What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I came across this podcast and the next thing I knew is that I was six episodes in! Dan’s interviewing skills bring out interesting stuff from people in careers that you might have thought would be boring. I have forwarded episodes to people who are in the career covered in that episode. And I think that high school guidance counselors would do well to recommend this podcast to students who are casting about trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives. Great show…keep up the good work.

This interviewer has amazing skills. He picks interviewees who are well spoken, he asks questions that are thoughtful and illicit interesting responses and the wrap up often makes me see things in a new way. I often walk away from listening thinking- I never knew I wanted to know so much about that.

I have binged this podcast since discovering it this summer. Each time you get to the “we end with a lightning round” I can’t believe it’s over! So many fascinating aspects of careers. Thank you

PC Binge · Aug 2026

I have fallen in love with this podcast where Dan Heath talks to people from all different professions. And it's not just the traditional doctor/lawyer professions - it runs the gamut: from pilot to car mechanic - from dog trainer to FBI agent. Dan is such a gifted interviewer that each show feels like a fascinating 30-minute documentary. Honestly, the Stadium Beer Vendor episode may be my favorite, which makes absolutely no sense because I don’t even drink beer or go to sporting events. This guy was like a Buddha delivering beer – and by the end, as he was reflecting on what he gained over the years from connecting with people in this way, I might have burst into tears. Trust me - this podcast is GOLD
