I literally stopped my getting ready routine in the middle of listening to your episode to write this review. I appreciate your viewpoint on why it does matter if moms care about and continue their careers, and how the ability to give experiences can be just as valuable as time. So often moms are made to feel guilty for working, and to hear solid examples of the benefits of working is so encouraging. Thank you!

There are so many voices saying the opposite that it’s refreshing to hear from two moms who have more kids than I do and similar work demands who are managing to reach their personal and professional goals by being deliberate and continually revising their approaches. I always walk away with the feeling that maybe i can do this!

I grew up in a family where a lot of women put their careers on the back burner for families, and it feels like I can listen to a mentor both for women in medicine and having a family and working. It is comforting and inspiring! I recommend this to all my med student friends because it’s so nice to learn you can have the best of both worlds!

I have been following this podcast since the beginning. And it’s been great watching the hosts go through various life changes and handling them with grace and humor. I don’t think one host is worse or better than the other; I think their differences make this a more interesting and useful podcast. I think they are both better off than I am financially, but this doesn’t really bother me. I can take advice and learn from folks who aren’t the same as me and with Laura and Sarah, I definitely learn a lot. I even enjoy the more frivolous episodes, kind of like chatting with old friends and hearing from them regularly. All in all, I love you guys! Keep on keeping on and don’t let the haters get to you.

The main problem here is Laura. Her voice is grating and her delivery is awkward and uncomfortable. She takes over where she needs to let Sarah speak. She can’t attune to her interviewees or her cohost, and it makes the listening feel like a chore even when the topics could be interesting.
This podcast is also designed for people who like to be uber busy and uber productive, and apparently don’t need to do many chores or life admin (or at least that’s my perception of Laura’s life). Basically it offers life suggestions not really based in reality. It really targets women who make a LOT of money, not just middle class women. Good for them, but not a “best of both worlds” scenario. There is no “both” in these worlds, only the 1%.
