Sammy Garcia Jr. is a chef, storyteller, son, brother, and survivor whose life was shaped by family, faith, food, and the fire of professional kitchens. Raised around the comfort of homemade cooking, family gatherings, and meals made with love, Sammy carried those early memories into a culinary career built on sacrifice, discipline, leadership, and brotherhood. From dish pits and culinary school to leading kitchens in Dallas, Austin, and Chicago, Sammy’s journey was filled with long shifts, hard lessons, deep friendships, and moments that tested every part of him. After a life-changing spinal injury forced him away from the kitchen, he began turning his pain, memories, and testimony into words. The Diary of a Fallen Chef is his way of honoring the life that shaped him while reminding others that falling does not mean being finished. He is also the author of Behind the Velvet Curtain, a three-part fiction love story inspired by his love for food and the future wife he hopes to one day share that love with.
