What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Love this podcast! I’m six weeks postpartum and as someone who doesn’t have friends in the same season of motherhood it’s been so nice finding your podcast to relate with! I love learning about ways to support our child’s development and flourish as a mom!

SK&99 · Jul 2026

If you want to learn about all things motherhood from the Laila’s perspective of “is this the best thing for you and baby or just a cultural norm?” You will love this podcast. I started listening when a bunch of my friends became pregnant and I knew that I would start TTC in the next year or so and the info was super helpful!! I have never really been around babies so it gave me so much more confidence about different subjects. She picks subjects to interview about that I think are super helpful. She interviews a wide spectrum of people from crunchi/holistic to medical experts. I recommend stockpiling all the information into notes while you’re pregnant or while TTC so you have a well of info for pregnancy and birth. Thanks for what you do Laila! You’re such a light and your joy is contagious.

I feel like the first season of this show was pretty great and it has slowly been getting worse. Some of the guests are still good, but others are just pushing their own agenda and have no evidence to back up their statements. Or maybe they do, but we don’t get to hear it because the host admits she cuts out 30-45 minutes of “some of the best parts” of each interview and puts it behind a paywall. She claims it’s for the algorithm, but I still think it’s all an odd thing to say. I know she needs to support herself, but blatantly cutting out the best or most important parts of the show are not the way to do that. I do think her interviewing style has improved over the seasons and I appreciate the wide range of guests. I’m hoping it starts to get better soon or I’ll just stop listening entirely.

Rhyla · Feb 2026

I was totally on board at first, but she keeps interjecting about how to avoid certain tests, how to avoid certain vitamins, etc. and then following by saying “but take that with a grain of salt.. I’m not a medical doctor”. As soon as you give your opinion on your aversion to pregnancy care that is directed by medical guidelines, people are going to listen to you whether or not you follow by saying you’re not the right person to be giving that information. Example… The glucose tolerance liquid that you need to drink is not going to ruin your health as you insinuated. It’ll give you a temporary blood sugar spike that your body, if you don’t have gestational diabetes, will bring down to a normal level in three hours. If not, it’ll be just elevated enough to know that your body isn’t controlling blood sugar, very well. That’s it! Just talk about the experience and other things, etc. Don’t be spreading your opinions as medical advice (even with the disclaimer at the end). Thank you.
