Messy Family Podcast : Catholic Conversations on Marriage and Family

by Mike and Alicia Hernon : Catholic Marriage Parent and Family

Parenting is not a clean-cut, simple process for those who like to follow the rules. Family life is messy and unpredictable, but it is the greatest adventure you will ever have. We are Mike and Alicia Hernon, parents of 10 children with a growing number of grandchildren, and we would like to invite you into some of the conversations we have had with each other about marriage, parenting, and Catholic family life. Our hope is that our conversation sparks a dialogue between you and your spouse that leads to greater unity and intentional Christian parenting in your home. Listen in to our podcast and start the conversation as we seek to lead our families to heaven. Visit us at https:///www/MessyFamilyProject.org for resources, guides, links and show notes.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I’ve been listening to the MFP for 7 years since our first was born (can’t believe I haven’t rated and reviewed, yet!) Mike and Alicia are honest about the challenges of parenting and marriage while providing hope and guidance, warnings and challenges. The guests they have on are amazing and give another perspective. Thanks Mike, Alicia and MFP team for all the hard work you do! ☺️

Kathrad5 · Mar 2025

Mike and Alicia, thank you for being the older brother and sister that you strive to be! As a father of a young family, I learn so much from your experiences and insights, and you are constantly informing how I strive to lead my family in this current season as well as helping me develop intentional plans for the years ahead. I am so grateful for your witness, humility, and love for the Lord!

Phil M Husband/Father · Jan 2025

I stumbled upon this podcast during the pandemic. I figured if they have 10 kids, they might be able to teach me a thing or two with only three. Wow boy have they ever! Mike and Alicia offer practical advice and real experience from a Catholic perspective. I feel normal listening to them as well as inspired to do better as mother and daughter of Christ. Any mess you find yourself in, I can bet they have a talk, resource, or book available to discuss it. We’ve even done a couples retreat with them and loved it.
