Listening to this show has made a significant positive impact on my life. It has helped me better understand and navigate my relationship with both my family of origin and my in-laws. It has also helped me process my feelings around these complex and at times difficult relationships. Whitney provides thoughtful comments to listener questions and I really enjoy the pop culture commentary as a way to unpack family dysfunction.

This is an excellent podcast that covers relatable topics of family estrangement. That said, the delivery and production has opportunities for improvement. The abrupt breaks for advertiser content (no outro or intro) is jarring. At times, the host shifts into a voice with significant vocal fry, which makes it difficult to listen to the entire ep—even though the continent is so strong. If you listen to her disclaimer at end, there is no fry—so I’m not criticizing her natural voice.
