The murderer of Leslie Preer was identified as Eugene Gligor.
Preer was brutally killed in her home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, in 2001. The case went unsolved for more than 20 years until investigators used forensic genetic genealogy and DNA evidence recovered from the scene. Gligor — who had dated Leslie Preer’s daughter years earlier — was arrested in 2024.
Investigators reportedly matched his DNA after secretly collecting a discarded water bottle at an airport. He later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2025 and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.

This podcast is good, very interesting story. I would give you five stars however I have issues with multiple short uploads combined with the high number of ads. Too much time is spent on advertising compared to the amount of time spent telling the story.

I have listened to the story on other podcasts. 20/20 podcasts are always outstanding and this one is no different. However, I won’t be listening to the rest of it. It is too depressing when you learn that the husband was a suspect for like 20 years and he didn’t do a damn thing. And then he dies before they figure it out. What a horrible thing for him to live with all those years being under a cloud of suspicion. I won’t give away what happens, but it is truly something that no one saw coming.
