This is EXACTLY the kind of podcast I’ve been searching for. I love the deep dives on well-known but frequently misunderstood celebrities. The Richard Pryor episode shared on Revisionist History (another excellent pod) was my first listen and I was instantly hooked. I love the perspective both hosts bring to the show. Wonderful storytelling, thoughtful commentary/analysis, and an overall pleasure to listen. Thank you!

I am totally enjoying their energy and unique deep dives into the lives of well known people without bowing to popular reverence or popularly accepted beliefs. They sincerely explore all angles including the person’s growth over time and their own blind spots. It’s a great show

I'm enjoying this new show, the easy joyful conversation between the hosts about people in the arts/culture spotlight. While the featured artists aren't new to me (as I'm of a certain age) so far, I appreciate hearing about their lives through a new lens, and through their archival histories. I do wish the hosts wouldn't always agree or come to the same conclusions (at least on the eps I've heard) It simplifies the complications that any life presents us with, and falls flat for me.

Thank you for the way you talked about George Micheal and his times. They were my times, too. Overnight it seemed, my friends were sick and dying. Young beautiful gay men. The shock, the sorrow, the fear, the rage that will never leave me.

These guys talk over each other, laugh at their own “jokes”, say “right?” way too much. The content is really shallow. Nothing here you can’t read on Wikipedia in less time and with less annoyance. Love the other Pushkin podcasts I’ve listened to but this is one to skip.

The George Michael take was embarrassingly shallow, completely neglecting his artistic renaissance of “Listen Without Prejudice” while yukking up the bathroom scandals. As an artist, he deserved far better than this dreck from hosts too young to recall his history accurately. Big miss for big lives.
