Shelise is an extremely respectful and natural interviewer. She’s not a professor and runs her side hustle so they can offer their platform. Some people may not like her style. It is conversational and expressive vs. an esoteric educational panel. She doesn’t interrogate her guests like a reporter or presume to have in-depth knowledge of their sects. This vibe is more low stress in the face of such difficult conversations. It appears to really help the interviewee feel like they are safe, with a “girlfriend”, and in the diverseat after so many years in subjugating structures. Love these ‘devil’s’ bean juice sit downs and how they highlight human resilience and compassion
I’ve been listening since the beginning and I still get excited when I see a new episode. So educational.
Shelise is an excellent interviewer. Very in- tune with her guests. she approaches every guest’s experiences with utter grace and empathy. She uses her own life lessons to relate to them on a deeper level than most other pods. Her & the hubby are the dynamic duo!🩵
While triggering topics are discussed, this podcast goes about dealing with them in a respectful manner and let's the guests tell it at their own pace and what they are comfortable sharing. I myself have religious trauma and this podcast has helped me feel less alone in my deconstruction as well as giving me hope in humanity that not all people are bad and some of us do make it out of the darkness
