by Bravecasting

Think nothing ever happens in your town? Australia's suburbs are home to some of the most mysterious and disturbing true crime cases in the world. Meshel Laurie is a true crime obsessive, and with the help of expert interviews with writers, victim/survivors, investigators and perpetrators, she probes the underbelly of our towns and suburbs, and uncovers the darkness at the heart of Australian life.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I love this podcast! I LOVE hearing from people directly connected with the cases you cover. I also think it very special how you acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which your show is recorded.

As an American who became a Footy fan 7 years ago, and started a footy podcast, I've become a voracious consumer of all things Australian. I'm a huge fan of True Crime podcasts, and Meshel and Emily are wonderful hosts. They show a great deal of compassion to their guests, often survivors or law enforcement who have been involved with solving cases for long periods of time. Ladies, I thank you for a wonderful program that helps make my walks around my hometown in Ohio all the more interesting. Cheers!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few years. I eagerly await each new episode But the Cheryl Grimmer episode is just so good. It’s a compelling story, so tragic. The way Emily and Meshel conduct the interview with empathy and professionalism is riveting. I found myself crying with and for Ricky. After listening, I went to the Fairy Meadow podcast. John Kay’s report provides a lot of information and background. Thank goodness this precious angel who was so loved and cherished is having her story told.

I have been bingeing this show for weeks! So amazing and full of information. I love hearing from people about the aftermath of crime. Not only from the police, but the families, and from some who have been convicted of crimes. I can’t get enough of it. I literally have been ignoring my other shows so I can get semi-caught up! I started at the very beginning and recommend everyone else to do the same!
