I’ve listened to a lot of true crime podcasts, and this one really stands out!

Instead of rehashing headlines, or just talking about cases, the host gives a voice to the people who actually lived through these cases. The Elizabeth Smart Episode is my favorite so far.

Having it interview based like this adds a level of depth and emotion you just don’t get elsewhere.

The interviews feel thoughtful and respectful, not sensationalized, and you can tell real care goes into how these stories are told. It’s powerful, sometimes heavy, but always meaningful. If you’re looking for something beyond the typical true crime format, this is absolutely worth a listen.

If you’re new here, this isn’t a recap show.

Most true crime podcasts tell the story. This one puts you in the room with the actual people who lived it. Survivors, family members, investigators, sometimes perpetrators and voices that don’t always get heard. Those are the ones telling these stories in their own words, the way they want it told, and it’s purposely unedited and unpolished.

Some episodes are hard to listen to. They’re supposed to be. The goal isn’t just to inform you, it’s to make sure these stories don’t get reduced to headlines and forgotten.

If you’re here, follow the show and stick with it. The conversations only get deeper from here.

Justin is amazing. He gives a voice to the victims and I always learn something I didn’t know before from each episode. He is the standard in true crime. Highly recommend.

He talks way too much about himself and his own opinions, his own stories, turning things back to him. At least cut some of those parts out even if you do minimal other cuts. It’s cringey hearing you talk over your guests and hog the conversation.
