Weird Little Guys is a weekly show about the worst people you’ve never heard of, taking you beyond the headlines to get to know the race warriors and aspiring terrorists trying to unravel the fabric of our society. Weaving together the origin stories of modern American white supremacist groups and the crimes that land their members in court, independent journalist Molly Conger exposes the monsters for what they really are - some weird guy. Whether they’re conspiring to build bombs or serving swastika shaped cookies at a dinner party, the weird little guys trying to destroy America are a little less scary with their masks off.

The topics being discussed are always interesting, and the audio engineering is quite good.
My only constructive feedback here is: A/1) use the background music more sparingly, and B/2) Perhaps someone with a more animated speaking voice and a tad bit more projection should do the reading. It does come off as less npr or btb and more scripty.
When everything is read in that inflectionless voice, important information is easy to miss. Also, when there is a long pause in between each sentence, the long pause sort of loses its impact and becomes just an irritation that disrupts the story.
I think the research is good, but those are my bits of constructive feedback. Again, off to a great start all in all.

With the combination of Molly Conger's mellifluous yet conspiratorial storytelling vocal performance and Brad Deckert's tautly mysterious music enticing you to keep following down this dark hallway with them, i think they could be a recipe reciting podcast and still make me feel like we are always on the edge of revelation!
It's actually much darker material, and i don't know how Ms Conger spends so much time researching for all the details she manages to dredge up!
But I am always excited for the next episode even though i can barely keep all the weird little guys separate. It's a real vibe!But one that keeps itself clearly apart from the subject matter. obsessed.

I had written a longer review a few weeks ago that seems to have disappeared, so I’ll suffice here to say that I find Molly Conger impressive. Her dedication and the depth of the research she does is amazing. I say that as a research guy. Her willingness to dive down rabbit holes to deliver concise, yet detailed, accounts of these tales is something I admire.
And her delivery is both professional and warm. That’s not easy to do.

I waited to review this but I've been listening to this from the one and only Boise Idaho. I love the balance of humor and realism. I wouldn't want someone on this topic to be distant from the stories that directly affect the safety of my community. I look forward to more episodes and re listening to a few. They are so rich in background and detail and personal narrative.
