Theo is alternately hilarious, random, deeply thoughtful, and an undisputed original thinker. Some of his guests are over the top with conservative views but many are really insightful. This is the evolution of shows like Howard Stern, he’s not shocking for the sake of it but instead he’s just truly unfiltered and curious about people and ideas.

Theo is hilarious and always makes me laugh. I didn’t expect him to be so vulnerable and open on this podcast. I loved the John Mulaney episode. I haven’t heard a conversation like that before and really appreciated it. I also love that Theo can be really earnest & doesn’t ALWAYS make a joke.

Recently started listening to this podcast and I love the variety of guests from all arenas and backgrounds. My favorite episodes to date are the NYC Garbage Man, Hulk Hogan and John Vervaeke - a beautiful discussion of how we can apply philosophy to our lives today. (And personally loved the thumbs up to most modernists being relevant cause they get a lot of flack these days for being nihilistic)
Shame seeing other negative reviews related to political leanings of certain guests - hoping the negative reviewers listened to the Vervaeke episode which discusses this exact thing! enjoyable, funny, and interesting - five stars

Man, listen… Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend, it’s like sitting in a Cracker Barrel parking lot with a guy who’s got a story for every stain on his shirt, you feel me? It’s funny, sure, he’s got that swamp wisdom, them bayou punchlines, but sometimes, it’s like he’s out here wrangling a laugh like it’s a loose possum, ya know?
He gets these big-name guests, right? And half the time, it’s like he’s just butterin’ up the bread, sayin’ what he knows the crowd wants to hear. Real folksy, real “I’m just one of y’all,” but you can tell he’s got that Hollywood cologne spritzed on now. He’s pandering, man, like when your uncle tries too hard to make the kids think he’s cool—next thing you know, he’s rapping about Snapchat at Thanksgiving.
Still, you tune in ‘cause Theo’s got that magic. That “is this genius or gibberish?” kinda thing. Even when he’s chasin’ the applause, he’ll hit you with a line so real, you feel it in your teeth, like biting into a gas station pickle.

Very interested in the near death experiences topic and happened upon this episode. Excellent physician guest but I felt his frustration. The interrupting, the poor questions, the lack of insights of the host made his job of presenting the facts difficult. The guest was exceptionally talented and kind in his responses. His voice also sounded exactly like Reno 911!’s Thomas Lennon.
