This is a Rachelle appreciation post and literally the first time I’ve felt compelled to review a podcast. I’ve always loved the format of the show and was worried when the original host left but Rachelle goes from strength to strength and I love the chemistry she has with her guests, it’s especially unmatched when she gets to be with her people iykyk. It really feels like a hangout session with your favorite people. It reminds me of Another Round (rip)
I started listening just before Kelsey McKinney announced she was leaving and I as so bummed. I had finally discovered a new podcast, that wasn’t true crime, where I loved the host and now she was leaving. Kelsey was an amazing host and I had to admit it took me a while to get used to Rachelle Hampton, but she’s so brilliant. I feel she keeps finding herself in this podcast and I love it. Her reactions and back and forth with the guests reveal her natural storyteller abilities.
I started listening recently so I am the most familiar with Rachelle Hampton’s beautiful voice. I love her delivery and tone, and the stories she relays with just enough suggestion and intrigue. When I’m feeling down about the horrors, I throw this on (often at work tattooing so my clients laugh along). Thanks for the laughs ! Xoxo
When I’m really struggling, which has been often lately, listening to this podcast puts me instantly in a better mood and helps lift me up. You are doing the lords work, truly.
Rachelle is so great, she is such a pleasure to listen to. I love the premise, the well chosen stories, and every guest adds to the joy. I’m enjoying bingeing this!
I really loved the earlier seasons of this podcast, I think I was able to overlook the boring guest intros and cringey “what would you do” interjections because the stories were so engaging and wild and funny. But like everyone else has been saying, after they became part of radiotopia the stories have just been terrible. Either 5 minute trivial stories painfully drawn out over an hour, or more elaborate situations set up for a big reveal that turn out to not even have an ending or resolution at all. I really don’t understand what happened to the show and why it’s so different now! Are they not getting enough submissions? They kinda lost me with the last season, but I was hopeful it would get better, maybe there were just some growing pains to work out. But the new season just started and the episode was actually unlistenable. So disappointing! All the people leaving these reviews, myself included, are big fans of the show just trying to provide helpful feedback. But they actively do not want feedback, and write all of us off as haters. Sadly I will be unsubscribing.
