I enjoy this podcast- filled with lots of good science. Sometimes I find the inspiration corny, but sometimes it’s needed. The guests are mostly interesting (a highlight was Kacee, the therapist). My one annoyance is how salesy she is for her 30 for 30 group facilitation, bonus podcasts and other things, but I also understand the podcast is free and she needs to make her money somehow.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Matthea and exploring her show. She covers so many topics around the areas of obesity and GLP-1 meds, it’s all so interesting but at the same time she’s compassionate and real.
Must listen for anyone on a GLP-1 medication or dealing with chronic obesity! I really appreciate Dr. Rentea’s focus on the long-term journey to better health with incremental improvement mindset vs all or nothing perfection. She’s enjoyable to listen to and is so relatable. (Love her laugh, too) Just counted… I’ve listened to 84 episodes in the last 3 months (!!!), plus bought the behind the scenes episodes (which I binged in a day). I have taken helpful nuggets from each and am doing some of the work on the side that she recommended (like list 100 things you do to help yourself on your journey). It’s helped me shift my mindset from an unrealistic weight loss timeline to a sustainable journey of learning and experimenting.
Matthea and her guests provide a wide overview of all the things we need to do to make a weight loss journey better. Thought work, planning, reality checks, goals for years and decades instead of days and months.
