Management · Morra Aarons-Mele
by Morra Aarons-Mele
Host Morra Aarons-Mele is on a mission to reframe how we think about anxiety and mental health in the workplace. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S. We desperately need better models for leadership and a more holistic view of mental health. Our culture tells those of us who suffer from anxiety and depression that we can’t succeed, but we tell a different story — without sugarcoating the tough stuff. We feature stories from people who’ve been there and experts who can help you thrive. Morra Aarons-Mele was way out in front on matters of workplace mental health, and it shows in these elevated, nuanced discussions and her empathetic & experienced moderation. 10/10 recommend.
The suggestion of a friend had me searching for podcasts that covered topics like ADD, imposter syndrome and similar. This one immediately seemed to hit the mark. I picked 3 different episodes, and I’ve already gotten so much from them. I feel so many feelings knowing there are people who get me. Thank you to the host and producers of this podcast.
I haven't listened to this pod much, but I really enjoyed this episode. It broke down the styles in an understandable way with examples that helped me determine my own attachment style. It was t what I thought it was! Although focused on the workplace, I can apply what I learned to my personal life as well. For many people, their identity is interwoven because of all the roles we have in our lives, so the information I learned can be used for these different roles.
I am subscribed to several podcasts, but this is the one I look forward to the most. It’s most helpful as my anxiety increased as I was working on my master’s degree, working in a stressful banking environment, and single parenting two children. Thank you for all you do!
As a Gen X Latin female who has navigated decades of varied corporate cultures, you offer good advice that for some people gets lost in being “women of color”, and being a younger generation that lacks experience in prior decades. Everyone struggles in a corporate environment including white men, especially today. To speak as an authority, one should be inclusive with their advice.
