Teens shouldn't have to wait until adulthood to start outgrowing porn. Because porn is reaching boys sooner than ever, healing should start sooner, too. If you’re a young man who feels stuck in a cycle of sexual shame or a parent who wants to help, this podcast is for you. Each episode empowers fathers and sons to heal together and find lasting freedom from porn through vulnerability, curiosity, and compassion from a Christian perspective. Join author Drew Boa, clinical psychologist Dr. Doug Carpenter, and youth recovery expert Blake Brinkman for the conversations most of us never had—but desperately need. Don’t wait! Outgrow porn at any age.

This is an excellent “shame-free,” insightful and practical resource for fathers and sons, or any man who mentors young men, to talk about the impact of pornography and how to move beyond shameful secrets to empowered and connected healing in your relationships. I wish this resource was around when I was a child/young teen, and that I had caring and safe men like Drew, Doug and Blake to provide wisdom and guidance on this necessary subject! Thanks guys for sharing your heart and expertise!
I’m so excited about this podcast! From the first episode I heard Drew, Doug, and Blake talk about things I wish I could have heard as a teen struggling with porn. Now that I’m a father of a young son, I’m looking forward to hearing some advice on how I can have conversations with my son that I didn’t get. Thank you, Drew, Doug, and Blake for leading us on this journey and for creating real change by helping us reverse the curse for the next generation!
I’ve been so surprised to learn from men that they’re porn addictions, most often began at such an early age. I’m so thankful for what this ministry has done to help men outgrow their porn addiction, and I’m so excited for this new addition to your ministry targeted to reach young men and fathers. All parents need to begin listening to this podcast and proactively talking with their sons now before they get stuck in something they’ll struggle with for the rest of their lives.
Most advice about porn aimed at teenagers amounts to “don’t,” then silence, then “wait until you’re eighteen.” Start Younger: Outgrow Porn at Any Age — a new podcast from Husband Material Ministries hosted by Drew Boa, psychologist Dr. Douglas Carpenter, and counselor Blake Brinkman — argues the reverse: if exposure happens at nine or ten, recovery has to be available at nine or ten too. The debut episode goes after shame rather than willpower, and its sharpest idea is a reframe: porn is something that happened to you, not who you are. As one of thousands of men who became addicted to porn before puberty, I would have been spared years of silent agony by this kind of messaging. My younger self was stuck in “this is who I will always be” and “why do I keep making these stupid mistakes?”; he needed compassionate voices like these. If you’re a parent, it’s never too early to open this conversation with your child; and one talk won’t cover it. And if you’ve been carrying this quietly yourself, assuming the help comes later, start with episode one.
