Pains me to write anything negative about this pod. I used to love the chemistry between these two so much that I’d listen to the lamer topics just to hear them chat. Now it seems like they’ve lost whatever that spark was. Christie plows over Heather conversationally to disagree about things that Heather literally went to law school about. She kindly redirects, but there’s no intelligent back and forth to be had because Christie doesn’t know what she’s talking about. It’s awkward and doesn’t make for a good convo.
Additionally, the content lately is terrible. So little true crime, and so much “alien this” “the legend of the swamp monster of blah blah that.” And then when they did the real heavy hitting Epstein stuff, it was WAY TOO heavy handed, drawing out the same content for months. If you were trying to avoid it for mental health reasons or because you were already familiar with the content, you were out of luck for weeks on end. Anyway- formatting wise, content wise, chemistry wise- it’s not hitting. Would love to see Heather move on and do true crime (less fluff) with another host. Sorry, Christie.
ALSO- the new “comment -blank- to get -blank-“ format in the socials is disgusting. Wow.

I’ve been listening for years now but lately I feel like every episode is about aliens or conspiracy theories and I really miss the amazing true crime episodes. You guys did such a good job with insight into true crime and I deeply miss that. I understand the conspiracy theory angle but this world is truly and actually crazy and if you talked about factually evident events and cases I think that would also effect just as many ppl.

I love this podcast. I occasionally save heavier episodes for another time, but they are so good. I also have several episodes saved (Mc Gruff, anyone?) because they are so hilarious. I listed to the episode about clowns on a flight and couldn’t avoid scream laughing. Sometimes, I marathon too many cryptid episodes and find myself slipping in to Heather’s live show accent. “No, it’s full of raccoons,” has also become a household catch phrase.
P.S. re: review title - I too love arrested development. When in doubt, take to the sea.

Normally I love this podcast, but super disappointed in the recent episodes about Nolan Wells. There is absolutely NO proof there was any foul play, and it most likely was a tragic accidental drowning. Yet the hosts were biased in these episodes, and acted as if it was a murder case and his friends killed him. Considering unsubscribing - it’s a shame they haven’t done proper research or maintained a neutral stance in an on-going situation. This is why I hate podcasts about current/ongoing events.

I thought this was a podcast for entertainment based off true crime stories, etc. not political banter & rants. Most people like to use entertainment to get a break from such things, but can’t find it here anymore!
This used to be a great podcast, with hosts that have good voices that aren’t miserable, but once they turned major political & even started dedicating episodes to it, it just got weird & annoying. They’ll go on literal RANTS for 30+ mins over stuff that has nothing to do with this podcast. I had to stop listening to it.
I think they received other complaints over this cause they kind of backed off a little bit but I don’t trust it won’t get ranty again so now I start skipping episodes more often. Used to be a comfort podcast for me, not anymore.
