What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Started listening to the podcast last year and not stop, even went back to listen to older episodes and listen to how much the podcast has evolved. It’s amazing the laugh I have had listening to movies I grew up with some I have never heard about before. Brings a smile to my face after have a bad day and I have many.

I remember about 3 years ago stumbling upon BMR while doomscrolling on Facebook. I got mad when I saw they called one of my favorite childhood movies bad. So naturally I went to that episode (The Lost World) and listened to it. I laughed so much at the banter from the hosts that it made me listen to more. James (main host) does the lord’s work on wrangling the hosts and trying to keep them on track, some days are better than others haha. The rotating cast of the other hosts makes each episode feel fresh and unique. There are some pair ups that cause chaos while others stay on track in humorous ways. Not every episode are home runs, but they are still good listens. The best episodes are when the movies are terrible in ways that it makes the hosts think about their life choices (Slapstick of Another Kind). It’s great to listen from the beginning while listening to the news one and see how James keeps shaping and forming the show into something special. Seagal sucks, Will Patton is intense, and Steve James is cool!

Love the podcast! We look at movies very similarly and I love all the extras. The awards and the Arnold castings keep me so entertained while driving for work. Lastly, please do Kazaam, as to me, beats Street Fighter as the worst bad movie of all time…yet I can still watch it anytime!

Seth Cro · May 2026

It’s nice to hear people joking around, and not taking things too seriously. In a world full of podcasts who feel like they need to go over the top with P.C. cringe takes, these are just people being real.
