Two Hot Takes - Podcast Rankings and reviews

This is the only podcast I’ve ever gotten into. I listen to it on long drives when I’m bored, when I’m feeling lonely or out of sorts, it feels like I’m having a conversation with friends and it makes me feel a million times better. It has actually got me through some tough times much easier and also has shine light on relationships with certain people throughout my life and put words to things I have never had words for. Sometimes the stories are so sad, sometimes hilarious, either way it feels like your going through it with your best friends. Super entertaining, yet I learn things in every episode!

I absolutely love this podcast most of the time. However, the most recent episode left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, for lack of better words.

As a member of the LGBT community and someone who identifies as lesbian and in a same-sex marriage, the way sperm donation and donor conceived children were talked about in this episode was hurtful. It felt as thought Lauren and Morgan talked down about those using donor sperm to conceive and talked as though those children are “less than” children conceived the “natural” way. And someone who has no choice but to use a donor to conceive with her wife, it was very hurtful and bothersome that the topic was approached as it was. I don’t usually write reviews but I feel as though this was an important topic to bring up.

Please be more mindful of your audience when talking about things such as donor conceived children.

I LOVE this podcast!!!! I find the stories and discussions so entertaining. The hosts and guests are so conversational, it feels like they are just in the kitchen chatting with me. If you need a good laugh, cry, advice, tea, or anything else for sure give this a listen. 15/10 recommend!

I love listening to these podcasts while i’m trying to fall asleep! Morgan’s voice is so soothing and calm it just makes me wanna listen to all the episodes. They have such detailed responses to stories and they don’t just say stuff like “cool” or “nice”. I wish i could rate this more than 5 stars! I recommend you listen to EVERY episode!!

I used to love this podcast and would look forward to every Thursday. However the tangents have gotten to be too much. They also tend to be very judgmental of parents for people who don’t have any kids. And the amount of times they have hated on men in a story for something they had done, but yet praise a woman for doing a similar thing in a different story. It is too biased. I also cannot handle how political it’s gotten. I had to stop listening. If I wanted to listen to a political podcast, I would find one to listen to.

This podcast used to be good when it stuck straight to the Reddit stories and commentary. Now the host talks a lot about political beliefs. If I wanted to hear that I’d listen to a political commentator focused podcast instead. There are lots of personal stories that go on for way too long as well.
