I started my true crime interest reading all of Ann Rule's book in the early 90s. I could not find anyone that held my interest the same way until I discovered y'all - Nic and the Captain - a few years ago. I started listening from episode one in between the weekly ones and finished them all. It's great that I don't have the best memory, because I have started from episode one again and many are like brand new episodes for me. I love everything: the presentations, the discussions, the Captain's comments, to Nic ignoring him! Thank you for all the work you do for the podcast and behind the scenes for victim's families. TCG is my favorite!

TCG is one of the first podcasts I started listening to YEARS AGO and the only one that I still get excited every Tuesday to see what they drop! Even if it’s a well known case, it’s done differently. And the music is always amazing!

TCG isn’t just another true crime podcast—it’s a powerful force for good. The hosts, Nic & The Captain not only thoroughly convey the details of each case with precision and care but also actively contribute to making a difference in solving crimes. Their dedication to seeking justice and their ability to keep listeners engaged while respecting victims and their families is truly commendable. I’ve been a fan for almost a decade, and I listen to numerous true crime podcasts, but this is the only one I eagerly look forward to as soon as it’s released. If you’re a true crime fan, this podcast is a must-listen!

Didn’t love it at first but boy have these two captivated me! Good story telling and analysis. Usually easy time lines to follow. The only thing is I think a lot of these cases could use some clarity on how it ends. I think they get so caught up in the details and forget that the rest of us are just hearing these for the first time and don’t know how all these conclude. I hope that makes sense. I’ll continue to listen!

An enjoyable listen but missing several key facts, including pertinent evidence, and quite a few reporting errors, kicking off with the fact that Patsy had ovarian cancer, not breast cancer. Had to fact check a LOT and in the end, I found their conclusion to be based mostly on gut and their desire for the parents to be innocent rather than the actual facts of the case. They missed many many key pieces of evidence that point in a different direction, which I think at least deserve a mention and some consideration.

Final straw: The Prosecutors mashup,Brett Talley and Alice Lacour. Look up their histories. It all makes sense now. I loved TCG for several years. The Captain’s random comments were sometimes funny, and it seemed they tried to approach most stories with respect for the victims. But over time, especially listening to old ones, there have been too many instances of, at best, cranky white guys out of touch, and at worst, promoting dangerous and disproven conspiracy theories. The guys absolutely shredded the single mother of a murdered teen for not knowing where her child was at all times — when neither Nic nor Capn have ever been a struggling single mother. They called 24 and 38 year old married adult women “the girls” repeatedly while reporting their double murder. way too many episodes on that case. When capn divulges his belief that Democrats run pedophilia rings it really doesn’t come across as a joke. I never expected MAGA garbage from these guys. Those lies have led to murders by those who believed them. It’s insulting and it’s dangerous.
