What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This podcast has some strong seasons, but season 22 is incredibly repetitive. The episodes are filled with overlapping audio and content, which feels unnecessary and becomes boring and annoying. This season could easily have been cut in half, as many episodes rehash previously shared information without offering anything new.

Chimmya123 · Dec 2024

Long time listener to this podcast and usually love this platform for survivors. Season 22 totally missed the mark. The perpetrator was in jail and reputation damaged before the season even started. Rather than coming from a place of support for survivors, this season seemed to come from a place of vengeance and meanness, which is a new and sad sentiment for this usually incredible podcast.

charzard11 · Dec 2024

As a first time listener, I’m almost finished with S22 but am surprised from the negative comments. Overall I’ve enjoyed the story telling as presented - actual victims - revealing personal, substantial information. Seems like a lot of people were harmed in this crime. Concerning the mentions of mental health, Megan appears competent yet delusional, and quite malicious. That being said, the story is interesting (relatable to other catfish stories).. not too thought provoking but entertaining and unbelievable.

Avgperv · Dec 2024

In the beginning, this was a phenomenal podcast. I was hooked and listened religiously. It was unbelievable and yet could totally happen. Tiffany was an incredible host allowing for the victims to tell their stories. It brought so much light to narcissistic behavior and really opened my eyes to relationships in my own life and the lives of my own loved ones. But gradually this has turned into propaganda cloaked as a podcast. I will not be making it through season 22 and would implore Tiffany to go back to letting the victim tell their story, not crafting a narrative with an agenda. It is totally your right to highlight causes that are important to you on your own platform, but I think you are flatlining your trajectory. Listen to your gut about what is important to share.

Shortstack p · Dec 2024

The earliest seasons of this podcast are extremely well-done and I really feel connected to the victims’ stories. The later seasons seem to lose some of the honesty and simplicity that made the first seasons stand out. It seems like the interviews are forced for the sake of shock value and entertainment and it’s lost the important message that the earlier seasons highlight. I just keep going back to listen to the first few seasons but I don’t think I’ll listen to new ones.

beachbum_37 · Dec 2024

I’ve stuck it out through Season 22, hoping it might eventually stumble into a cohesive storyline or at least a vague sense of WHAT THE EFF is going on. Instead, it’s like someone threw a bag of random voices, stories, and characters into a blender without a lid. As of Episode 6, the storytelling is still a hot mess—so disjointed it’s borderline impossible to figure out what Tiffany is even trying to accomplish here. I wish I could love it as much as I’ve loved past seasons of SWW, but this one feels like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without instructions. Just… why?
